Steamed Mussels With Tomato & Curry

  • 4 pounds of cleaned (scrubbed and debearded) mussels. I always buy clean PEI ones from the store. Cleaning mussels is a daunting task.
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of fresh tomato crushed in your blender
  • 2 tsp of Blue Dragon Curry Paste
  • Salt And Pepper to taste


  1. In your large pot, add olive oil, onion and garlic. Let it cook until onions are tender. It takes around 5 minutes.
  2. Add tomato, Blue Dragon Curry Paste, salt and pepper.
  3. Let it cook for around 5 minutes
  4. Then add 1 cup of water.
  5. Let it cook for around 15 minutes or until it boils.
  6. Add the mussels
  7. Cover, bring to boil.
  8. Cook for around 3 minutes or until mussels are open. Make sure to shake the mussels while cooking so they cook evenly.
  9. Remove the open mussels.
  10. Continue cooking the rest for another few minutes.
  11. Discard the mussels that did not open
